Beliefs and Practices

Purpose: Shining the light to a dark world. (Matt. 5:16) Preaching salvation through the blood of Jesus Christ only and fulfilling the Great Commission. (Matt. 28:19-20)

What we believe:

Scripture:

We teach that Scripture consists of the 66 books called the Old and New Testament.  We believe that it is:
--wholly inspired (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21)
--without error
--God cannot lie (Hebrews 6:18; Titus 1:2)
--One cannot call their Savior perfect in one breath and call the
Scripture He authored imperfect in the next.  Jesus is the very Word
             of God. (John 1:1, 14)
--living and powerful (Hebrews 4:12)
--the sword with which to fight Satan and the spiritual hosts of wickedness
   (Ephesians 6:17; Luke 4:1-13)
--the supreme authority in all matters of life and godliness (II Peter 1:3-4)
--the instrument through which faith and life come (Romans 10:17, John
   20:30-31)
--provides light for the dark path (Psalm 119:105) and direction for the
yearning soul (Psalm 119:133, Psalm 37:23-24)

--will endure forever (Mark 13:31; I Peter 1:24-25)

In the Triune God. One God manifested in three persons, God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.(Gen. 1:26, Matt. 3:17, John 14:26, 15:26)

That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Living God whose shed blood saves us from eternal damnation by a personal faith in His work.(John 3:16, Rom.6:23)

People were created to exist forever. After death, we will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or exist eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation.  To be eternally separated from God is spiritual death in hell with satan. To be eternally in union with God is eternal life in Heaven.

The Holy Spirit is the Promise of the Father, our Comforter sent to convict the world of sin; which places the believer in the Body of Christ, indwells the believer, and bestows spiritual gifts and fruits to the Family. (Rom. 12:6-8, I Cor. 12:8-10, 12:28-30, Eph. 4:11, I Pet. 4:9-11, Gal. 5:22-23)

Salvation (Eph. 2:8-9), Sanctification (I Thes. 4:3) and Glorification (Phil. 3:20-21) are the steps all believers should follow.

In water baptism by immersion to those who are born again, as Christ commanded. (Matt. 3:13-16)

In the virgin birth, sinless life and third day resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Luke 1 & 2, II Cor 5:21, Luke 24:46)
